in newtown. it's not just the white house. it's not just congress. today there's major news out of michigan where the republican governor rick snyder has vetoed legislation that would allow concealed weapons in churches and schools and day care centers. new polls show support for stricter gun control is at a ten-year high. the company that owns the gun maker that produced the rifle used in last week's massacre plans to sell it. calling the shooting a quote, water shed event. and dick sporting goods has suspend the sale of modern sporting rifles in all of their change. this is change. this is different. yet the right wing is already gearing up for a fight. fox news reports that the nra is expected to push back soon. they'll hold a news conference on friday. and republican governors still aren't convinced that guns are the problem. governor jan brewer says quote, i'm not sure additional gun control is something that needs to be addressed. i don't know how we get our arms around it. don't know how to get your arms around it? how about disarming those who shouldn't have weapons? and virginia go

of the united states on friday, choked back tears. this is a very sad day, of raw emotion here in newtown, connecticut, as families begin burying the children killed in the massacre at the sandy hook elementary school right down the road from where we are right now. we're watching all of this unfold, and the pain is clearly, clearly evident. while every day here in new town is sad, today, it's especially, it's especially sad. this afternoon, the first funerals were held for victims of the elementary school massacre. connecticut's governor, you just saw him here, he attended one of the services today, and he summed it up this way, and i'm quoting him, you see little coffins and your heart starts to ache. as this town and the nation tries to come to grips with this huge, huge tragedy, the investigation is focusing in on the question why. some of the answers may come from a computer found in the home where the gunman, adam lanza, lived with his mother. cnn's national correspondent deborah feyerick is keeping track of the latest developments. she's joining us now live with more. what are you

nothing either. if we had another opportunity of newtown, where a number of people got killed and it could have been prevented had we done something. we would regret doing nothing. my proposal is the middle proposal to do something but avoid doing things that creates harm than good. i have offered to give free training to the principal and the designee in each school. we would train them in when to shoot, not to shoot, how to lockup the gun. >> what if the principal or the designate, and he or she is in the gym and the gunman comes through the front door of the school? what good does that do? >> part of it is to have a good communication system. so if there's an emergency in any part of the school. they can get to the location quickly. >> the sheriff is planning mobilize a posse, a marked patrol car will be stationed outside the school. that a deterrent? >> you know, i don't really know. i'm hoping that the sheriff will work with me, three sheriffs already have agreed to work with me in the training of one person per school. and the sheriff was the sheriff for my home county. so, i'm hopin
